It has been reported that 10 people have been detained as part of an investigation into allegations concerning Mustafa Sarıgül. Among those detained is Abdülkadir Sezgin, who was previously noted for reciting a poem to Sarıgül.

It was stated that Sezgin is the former headman (muhtar) of the 19 Mayıs neighborhood in Şişli and served as the Şişli District Chair for the Party for Change in Turkey (Türkiye Değişim Partisi).
The allegations mentioned in the investigation file were also brought to light through the prosecutor's testimony of C.D., the former IT Manager of the Şişli Municipality. C.D. had claimed that high school students were introduced to Sarıgül under the guise of "leadership camps."
In C.D.'s testimony, it was alleged that A.S., who was stated to be responsible for the youth camps at the time, brought the students together with Sarıgül. The same testimony also alleged that promises were made to the youth that they could reach important positions in the future.
According to the testimony, it was claimed that the students sang anthems in front of Sarıgül, and that Sarıgül told some of the youth, "You are a leader, you will be president."
