Access ban imposed on 'Şeytantepe' documentary covering the Narin Güran case
The documentary by 140journos detailing the Narin Güran murder trial has been blocked from access on the grounds of "national security and public order."
An access ban has been imposed on the documentary "Şeytantepe," prepared by 140journos, which covers the Narin Güran murder and the subsequent trial process.
According to EngelliWeb, the documentary, which had been viewed 2.9 million times on YouTube, has been blocked from access in Turkey and removed from the platform on the grounds of "protecting national security and public order."
It was also noted that the X account of Tuncay Beşikçi, who was featured in the documentary and served as an expert witness in the Narin Güran murder case, has been blocked from access in Turkey for the same reason.
The Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched a judicial investigation into the documentary on August 26. The investigation, initiated upon the request of the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Gendarmerie Criminal Investigation Team, included accusations of "disinformation activities" and "publicly spreading misleading information."
It was also recorded that MASAK (Financial Crimes Investigation Board) was tasked with identifying the financial transactions of 31 individuals as part of the investigation.
