Ahmet Şık announces: Asset freeze and investigation order for Pasifik Holding partners

TİP MP and journalist Ahmet Şık announced that, as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an order for an asset freeze and investigation has been issued regarding Pasifik Holding partners Fatih Erdoğan, Mehmet Erdoğan, and Abdülkerim Fırat.

According to the statement made by Şık on his social media account, the order was transmitted to the relevant institutions as part of an investigation into suspicions of "stock market manipulation and money laundering." Fatih Erdoğan is known as the husband of AKP Ankara MP Asuman Erdoğan.

Şık stated that the prosecutor's office requested that measures be taken against transactions that could reduce the assets of the three individuals, that suspicious capital market instruments be frozen, and that their assets be identified.

The request letter stated to have been sent by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the institutions.

REQUEST FOR NOTIFICATION TO INSTITUTIONS

According to the request letter included in the source text, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation for Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering Crimes sent letters to institutions including the Banks Association of Turkey, the Participation Banks Association of Turkey, the Union of Notaries of Turkey, the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, MASAK, the Central Securities Depository, the CMB, Takasbank, Borsa İstanbul, and the CBRT.

The letter requested that necessary measures be taken regarding transactions that would reduce assets, such as transfers, assignments, sales, donations, the establishment of mortgages or pledges, account closures, high-amount cash withdrawals, and EFT or wire transfers. It was requested that the opinion of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office be sought before executing any transaction in the event of an unusual transaction request.

The request letter also stated that ordinary transactions should not be hindered in a way that would cause grievances. Conversely, it was requested that transactions outside of ordinary operations, which are considered noteworthy in terms of amount or frequency and potentially collusive, be reported to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office without delay.

In the letter from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that there were reports that manipulative actions in some stocks traded on the Borsa İstanbul Equity Market were carried out through funds, that value increases of up to approximately 100 times were observed in some stocks, and that this was evaluated as an "abnormal price movement."

The same letter also included information that, in accordance with the decision of the CMB Decision-Making Body dated September 17, 2026, 131 funds were closed to trading on TEFAS for both buying and selling.

In Şık's post, it was also recalled that a freeze order had previously been placed on Pasifik Holding, where Fatih Erdoğan is the chairman of the board, but that this order was subsequently lifted. It was noted that the company had previously claimed in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it had no relationship with the problematic funds.
