The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the issuance of an arrest warrant for model Deniz Akkaya as part of an investigation into allegations of insulting journalist İlknur Yılmaz.
The investigation was launched following a complaint by İlknur Yılmaz, handled by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Cybercrimes Investigation Bureau. It was stated that Akkaya could not be reached when summoned to provide a statement as part of the investigation and did not appear before the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office despite the summons.
In the request letter sent by Public Prosecutor Ahmet Kocaman to the Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace, it was noted that the suspect could not be made available despite searches conducted by judicial authorities.
For these reasons, the Prosecutor's Office requested the issuance of an arrest warrant for Deniz Akkaya on behalf of the public. The decision of the judgeship regarding the request is awaited.
