According to information reported by Sol Haber, former Borsa İstanbul AŞ General Manager Korkmaz Enes Ergun, who was detained as part of a fund investigation into transactions carried out in capital markets, has been referred to the courthouse.
It was reported that Ergun was detained in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on allegations of "being a member of an organization established to commit crimes" and "bribery." Having completed his procedures at the police station, Ergun was brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan following a health check.
While it was stated that the investigation is being conducted over certain transactions in the capital markets, it was noted that the judicial process regarding Ergun will continue with the prosecutor's office proceedings. New decisions regarding the file are expected to become clear following the prosecutor's interrogation.
Korkmaz Enes Ergun had been serving as the general manager at Borsa İstanbul since March 26, 2021. In accordance with the decision taken at the Borsa İstanbul AŞ Board of Directors meeting on November 1, 2026, it was announced that Deputy General Manager Atila Türeli had been appointed as the acting General Manager of Borsa İstanbul AŞ.
With Ergun's referral to the courthouse, the first steps of the investigation in the judicial phase have begun. The assessment regarding the accusations directed within the scope of the investigation will be shaped according to the outcome of the prosecution and court processes.
