Murat Ağırel files criminal complaint against Melih Gökçek

Journalist Murat Ağırel announced that he has filed a criminal complaint against former Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek, who had made certain allegations regarding him.

In a statement on his social media account, Ağırel stated that he had reported to the prosecutor's office the allegations that the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiaries had purchased his books, as well as the claims brought to the agenda through Emre Uslu.

I have reported to the prosecutor's office both the allegation that the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiaries purchased my books, and the claims he made about me through FETÖ fugitive Emre Uslu. Now it is the accuser's turn.

Ağırel stated that Gökçek must present the information and documents he used as a basis for his allegations to the prosecutor's office. He also noted that he would share with the public the information and documents that emerge during the investigation process.

Just as any honorable and decent citizen would do, he will present to the prosecutor's office the information and documents that form the basis of the allegations he has made against me. Whatever he knows, whatever he relies on, whatever he has in his possession, he will provide it.

Ağırel also stated that he would continue to share other criminal complaints once they have been officially recorded. It was noted that the criminal complaint petition also included the posts containing Melih Gökçek's allegations against Ağırel.
