Umut Güner, one of the partners of Dünya Gazetesi, who was detained as part of a fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding transactions in capital markets, has been placed under judicial control measures.
Following the completion of his procedures at the police station, Güner was referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after a health check. Güner's statement was also taken by the prosecutor's office there.
The prosecutor's office sent Güner to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control measures, specifically "house arrest" and a "travel ban."
The judgeship decided to impose judicial control on Güner in line with the prosecutor's request. Thus, Güner was released under judicial control without being arrested as part of the investigation.
