Statements of Tuğba Ekinci and Ahmet Yılmaz, arrested in obscenity investigation, revealed

The statements made to the prosecutor's office by Tuğba Ekinci and Ahmet Yılmaz, who were arrested as part of an investigation into allegations that they shared obscene content on social media in exchange for money, have been revealed.

In her statement, Ekinci denied the accusations against her. Stating that she does not have an account on the X platform and that the video subject to the investigation was not shared by her on this platform, Ekinci said that she filmed the video herself and shared it as a story on her Instagram account named “tugbaekinciofficial”.

Stating that she did not think the post contained any criminal elements, Ekinci expressed that she removed the content shortly after due to reactions from her family circle. Ekinci argued that the post was copied by other people without her permission or knowledge and published on different platforms. According to the information reflected in the file, Ekinci also declared that her monthly income is 50 thousand TL.

Ahmet Yılmaz, who was also detained and arrested as part of the same operation, claimed in his statement that his posts were related to his daily life and did not contain obscenity. Yılmaz said that he could not find a job due to his sexual identity and was forced to make a living through his social media accounts.

Yılmaz stated that he needed to undergo surgery to complete his gender transition process and that he earned income from social media to cover his surgery expenses. Stating that he restricted his posts on TikTok and YouTube to viewers aged 18 and over, Yılmaz said, “I do not believe I have committed the crime of obscenity.”
