Ali İhsan Uzuner, who was wanted in connection with the armed attack in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli that resulted in the death of MHP Gölcük Municipal Council Member Murat Saral, has been captured.
The incident occurred on Kınalı Street in the Çiftlik neighborhood of Gölcük. According to information obtained, Saral and Uzuner, who was stated to be a childhood friend, met to discuss a matter involving their families.
During the meeting, an argument between the parties quickly escalated into a fight. Murat Saral, who was seriously injured after Uzuner opened fire with a handgun, was taken to Gölcük Necati Çelik State Hospital following initial intervention by medical teams. Despite all interventions at the hospital, Saral could not be saved.
Police teams launched an operation to capture Ali İhsan Uzuner, who fled after the attack. It was determined that the suspect had traveled to the İznik district of Bursa in his personal vehicle.
Uzuner was captured and taken into custody by police teams at a gas station in İznik. The suspect, whose procedures at the police station were completed, has been referred to the courthouse.
