326 thousand lira fine for 15-year-old driver and vehicle owner

Police teams in Karabük, acting on a report of a motorcycle without a license plate, caught a 15-year-old driver who fled after failing to comply with a stop order following a short pursuit.

The incident occurred on Anafartalar Street in the Kayabaşı neighborhood. Traffic Inspection Branch teams were dispatched to the location following a report of a white, unplated motorcycle in the area.

As the teams approached the motorcycle, the driver got on the vehicle, started it, and ignored the police's "stop" order. The ensuing chase ended when the driver abandoned the motorcycle on Nene Hatun Street and attempted to flee on foot.

The driver, who was apprehended by police teams, was identified as 15-year-old İ.Ö. Under the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918, the driver was issued a total administrative fine of 286 thousand lira for failing to comply with a stop order, driving a motor vehicle without a driver's license, and operating a registered vehicle on the road without a registration certificate and license plate.

D.Y., who was identified as the owner of the motorcycle, was also fined 40 thousand lira for allowing the motor vehicle to be used by a person without a driver's license. Thus, the total fine imposed reached 326 thousand lira.

It was reported that the motorcycle, which was stated to have the license plate 78 AAH 134, was impounded and banned from traffic for 60 days, being towed to a secure parking lot.
