50 suspects apprehended in obscenity and prostitution operation in Mersin
Following an investigation into those involved in obscenity and prostitution in Mersin, police conducted a simultaneous operation and detained 50 suspects.
According to the information received, an investigation into obscenity and prostitution was conducted by the Public Order Branch's Morality Bureau of the Provincial Police Department, under the coordination of the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Following the investigation, several addresses across Mersin were identified, and a simultaneous operation dubbed 'My Family is Safe' was carried out. 50 suspects were apprehended in the operation. The detained suspects were taken to the police station, and judicial proceedings have begun.
It is expected that the suspects, from whom weapons and various criminal items were also seized, will be referred to the courthouse in the coming days after their statements are taken regarding multiple charges such as 'producing obscene content, immoral prostitution, and providing premises for prostitution.'
It was reported that the investigation into the operation is being conducted meticulously.

Minister of Justice Gürlek: "162 suspects apprehended in 15 provinces"
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated in a post on social media that judicial proceedings were carried out against 162 suspects, 9 associations, and 13 businesses in operations covering 15 provinces, centered in 5 provinces, launched under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Aydın, and Mersin, in conjunction with the Police and Gendarmerie forces, under the name "My Family is Safe." Minister Gürlek said, "The investigations examined individuals who mediate or provide premises for prostitution, businesses evaluated as providing an environment for these activities, suspects who produce and disseminate obscene content, and activities aimed at exposing children to such content.
As a result of the assignment of undercover investigators, technical and physical surveillance, witness statements, digital examinations, and video recordings, simultaneous detention, search, and seizure operations were conducted; narcotics and a large amount of digital material were seized, and measures were taken to block access to numerous social media accounts and websites.
Regarding the financial aspect of the investigations, MASAK examinations into associations promoting LGBT and immorality revealed that large amounts of funds were transferred to some associations by public institutions and foreign organizations abroad.

The source of these money movements and their connection to the activities subject to the investigations are being researched. I thank our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Aydın, and Mersin, who are meticulously conducting the investigations, the valuable members of our Police and Gendarmerie forces who took part in the operations, and all public officials who contributed. Within the framework of the responsibility imposed on the state by our Constitution regarding the protection of the family and children, we will not tolerate any criminal organization, exploitation network, or illegal activity that targets our children, youth, and families," he said.
