The incident occurred in the evening hours on Orta Street in the Doğancılar neighborhood of the Çatalağzı town. According to allegations, an argument broke out in the middle of the street between Ercan D. (48) and his wife, Burçin D. (41), who is in the process of divorce. Emre Ç. (27) also intervened in the argument. Following the argument, Ercan D. opened fire on his wife and Emre Ç. with a gun and fled the scene.
Burçin D. and Emre Ç., who were injured in the armed attack, were taken to Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital by medical teams. It was learned that Burçin D. is conscious, while Emre Ç. is unconscious. It was reported that both injured individuals remain in critical condition. Relatives of the injured, who received news of the incident, arrived at the hospital.
It emerged that there was a preventive protection order against him
It was learned that a preventive protection order had previously been issued against Ercan D., whom police teams have launched an effort to apprehend. It was stated that the order was valid until November 21, 2026. While an investigation into the incident has been launched under the instruction of the public prosecutor, efforts to capture the suspect are ongoing.
