Specialist sergeant kills his wife and commits suicide: There was a restraining order
In the Tarsus district of Mersin, İsmail S., a specialist sergeant who had a restraining order against him, shot and killed his wife, Narin S., with a handgun before taking his own life with the same weapon.
47-year-old İsmail S., who served as a specialist sergeant at the Coast Guard Mediterranean Regional Command in the Tarsus district of Mersin, went to his wife Narin S.'s workplace despite having a restraining order against him.
It is alleged that an argument broke out between the two shortly after, which then escalated. İsmail S. shot his wife with the weapon he had with him. He then shot himself with the same weapon.
Upon notification by bystanders, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Checks performed by the medical teams confirmed that the couple had lost their lives.
