The damage to the Turkish flag at Avşar Tepe was documented.

Fatih Kılıçaslan, the Provincial Representative of the Turkish Air Sports Federation and President of the Burdur Paragliding Sports Club, noticed the damage to the flag when he went to the area for preparations for the Turkish Paragliding Accuracy Championship, which is planned to be held in Burdur next month.

Kılıçaslan condemned the attack, stating that Avşar Tepe has been developed through the efforts of paragliders for approximately 15 years. Stating that the paragliders erected the flagpole, Kılıçaslan said, "What does it mean to fire bullets at a flagpole, to fire bullets at the flag? It is a pathetic situation. An attack on the flag is not acceptable at all. We condemn this with regret."

The Burdur Governor's Office also issued a statement regarding the incident. The statement reported that following reports in some media outlets and social media channels, the relevant units have initiated the necessary examination and investigation to clarify all aspects of the incident.
