Two cars collide at the entrance of Hasankeyf Tunnel in Batman: 12 people injured

In the Hasankeyf district of Batman, 12 people were injured as a result of a collision between two cars at the entrance of the Hasankeyf Tunnel on the Gercüş-Batman highway.

The accident occurred during the night. According to the information obtained, the cars with license plates 72 ABH 372 and 06 DZ 5126, whose drivers' names have not yet been learned, were traveling from the direction of Gercüş towards Batman when they collided at the tunnel entrance for reasons yet to be determined.

The vehicles sustained heavy damage following the collision. Upon notification, health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. The teams provided initial intervention to the injured at the scene.

Those injured in the accident, identified as Ş. Ç. (38), B. A. (18), M. A. (11), E. E. Ç. (9), U. A. Ç. (4), and one person whose name could not be learned, were taken to Gercüş State Hospital. It was reported that the other 6 injured individuals, whose identities have not yet been determined, were transferred to Hasankeyf State Hospital.

Due to the accident, traffic at the tunnel entrance was provided in a controlled manner for a while. Security forces have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision.
