Burak Eldem, an author, researcher, and journalist known for his work on ancient civilizations, esotericism, archaeoastronomy, and alternative history, has passed away at the age of 65 following a long battle with cancer.
Author, researcher, journalist, and former radio and television programmer Burak Eldem has passed away at the age of 65. Eldem, who had been receiving treatment for cancer for a long time, shared a drawing of a coastal town in a post on X last year, writing, "I would love to sip my coffee lazily in a warm coastal town and read my book. Without thinking about doctors, hospitals, treatments, etc. I wonder if it will be possible..."
Known in Turkey particularly for his work on ancient civilizations, esotericism, archaeoastronomy, and alternative history interpretations, Eldem worked in journalism, television programming, and new media in addition to his writing career. Reaching a wide readership with his 2003 book 2012: Meeting with Marduk, Eldem wrote articles for various newspapers and magazines, prepared and hosted music programs on TRT, and engaged in internet broadcasting.
