AKP Deputy Chairman Ahmet Büyükgümüş reacted to the opposition over the debates regarding the fund issue in a statement on his social media account.
Büyükgümüş argued that the state is working to resolve grievances and that the judiciary is conducting the process to clarify it "in all its aspects."
Accusing the opposition of "turning public sensitivities into political pickpocketing," Büyükgümüş claimed that ministers, members of parliament, and AKP staff were being targeted without concrete evidence or documents.
In his statement, Ahmet Büyükgümüş said, "We do not declare those who do wrong as heroes; we advocate that they must be held accountable before the law, regardless of their position or title.
However, we will not remain silent while you take advantage of this determination of ours to target the reputations of our colleagues without presenting any evidence."
AKP's Büyükgümüş addressed the YENİ Party at the end of his post, saying, "Immediately put an end to the political pickpocketing you have started before you can account for your political thefts, and get off this nation's back."
