Another investigation added to those opened against Mansur Yavaş: Denial comes from ABB

It has been learned that another investigation has been launched against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. This time, it was stated that an investigation was requested into allegations that Yavaş used municipal resources during rallies in Karabük and Çankırı during the 2023 election process.

ALLEGATION OF MUNICIPAL RESOURCES

It was stated that the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested an investigation permit, alleging that Yavaş used Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) resources during the rallies he attended in Karabük and Çankırı during the 2023 election process. It was claimed that Yavaş attended the rallies held in Karabük on May 9, 2023, and in Çankırı on May 11, 2023, accompanied by municipal personnel.

FOUR SEPARATE INVESTIGATION PERMIT REQUESTS

This development adds a new one to the investigations opened against Yavaş. Together with the zoning plan change in October, concert expenditures in November, and the Ankapark file in January, a total of four separate investigation permits have been requested. It is stated that this new investigation into Yavaş has been ongoing for approximately one month.

Following the investigation allegations, an official statement came from the ABB. The statement from the ABB, which denied the investigation allegations, included the following expressions:

''In news reports served by some media outlets this morning and presented as a “new development,” it was reported that the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into the allegation that Mansur Yavaş used public resources in his political campaign.

The file in question is not new and is an open file that has previously been reflected in the public domain. Despite this, the fact that it is served repeatedly and in a misleading manner by certain well-known media outlets as if it had “come to the agenda for the first time” clearly shows that it is the product of a perception campaign.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş did not even receive a salary from the municipality during the 2023 election process and has clearly demonstrated that no public resources were used. His public declarations regarding this matter for the year 2023 are available; they are of a nature that can be examined, looked at, and seen.
