Bahçeli requests the rope thrown by Dervişoğlu: He will hang it in his office

The main agenda of politics has been the 'isolation' remarks made by MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli regarding PKK leader Öcalan.

Speaking at his group meeting yesterday, Devlet Bahçeli stated regarding Abdullah Öcalan: "If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Let him declare that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been disbanded. If he shows this resolve and determination, the path should be opened wide for legal regulations regarding the use of the right to hope and for him to benefit from it. Let the address extend from Imralı to DEM, not Kandil or Edirne, and let this heavy and historical terror problem be completely removed from the country's agenda. I challenge you, we are ready for this."

Bahçeli's statements received support from the DEM Party as well. DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları supported the call for the isolation imposed on Öcalan to be lifted and for Öcalan to make a statement in Parliament.

Speaking at his party's group meeting about Bahçeli's remarks regarding Öcalan, Dervişoğlu showed a harsh reaction to Bahçeli.

REFERENCE TO BAHÇELİ

Dervişoğlu's act of throwing the rope brought to mind the rope-throwing incident by Bahçeli years ago.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, at a rally he held in 2007, said regarding Öcalan: "You are the one who is in power alone. Why didn't you hang him? You have enough money to buy a ship for your son, but can't you buy a rope to hang him?" Then, turning to his bodyguard, Bahçeli said, "Give me that rope," and after saying, "Take it and hang him," he threw the rope over the crowd.

BAHÇELİ REQUESTED THE ROPE

According to the report by Sözcü, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli requested the rope from Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who had thrown it at him during the İYİ Party Group meeting. It was stated that Bahçeli would hang the rope in his official office.
