Closed session begins in the Turkish Parliament: What is on the agenda?
Following President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan's remarks on Israel, the Turkish Parliament has convened in a closed session. No observers or journalists were admitted to the session.
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated in his speech at the opening of the Turkish Parliament that Israel poses a serious threat to Turkey.
Following these remarks, the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) convened with an agenda focused on Israel. During the closed-door discussions, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler will provide briefings regarding Israel's attacks and regional risks.
CHP'S REQUEST FOR A CLOSED SESSION
CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir had visited Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and requested that the Parliament hold a closed session to inform the deputies on this matter.

KURTULMUŞ HAD STATED THAT PARLIAMENT WOULD BE INFORMED
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş also stated in a television broadcast, in response to a question on the subject, that in line with a request from Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler would provide information to the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament on Tuesday, October 8.
Kurtulmuş had indicated that the discussions could be held as a closed session in accordance with requests from political parties.
JOURNALISTS NOT ADMITTED TO THE DISCUSSIONS
Because the discussions are being held in a closed session, no observers or journalists were admitted to the General Assembly Hall.
The rooms adjacent to the General Assembly Hall will also remain closed until the session is concluded. The minutes and summaries of the closed session may be published after 10 years. Following the briefing, the closed session will end, and the General Assembly will continue to discuss the items on its agenda in an open session.
