DEM Party sources reveal: The commission will include not only Öcalan, but also PKK members!
DEM Party sources stated that in addition to the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, the Disarmament and Strategic Coordination Subcommittee may also include members from security units and the PKK.
New details have emerged regarding the structure of the Disarmament and Strategic Coordination Subcommittee, which is planned to be established as part of the second resolution process dubbed "Turkey Without Terror."
According to a report by Nefes Gazetesi, DEM Party sources claimed that the commission's composition is expected to include not only the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, but also individuals from the state's security units and the terrorist organization PKK.
The latest statements regarding the process came from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum. Bahçeli had stated that a 250-square-meter residence was being built for the terrorist leader Öcalan within the İmralı Prison complex, that he could meet with journalists at an appropriate time, and that the necessary facilities would be provided for this.

Mehmet Uçum, for his part, had stated that Öcalan would serve on the Disarmament and Strategic Coordination Subcommittee.

DEM Party sources argued that these statements meant that previously reached decisions were being “declared” to the public. One source assessed, “First Bahçeli, then Uçum announced it. One of the members of the Disarmament Commission will be Öcalan.”
According to the same sources, preparations regarding the conditions and methods for the surrender of weapons will be carried out by the state. A source from the DEM Party, noting that Öcalan is the person who founded the organization and called for laying down arms, claimed that he would be decisive in the process regarding the laying down of arms and where the members of the organization would go.

In his previous statement, Uçum had indicated that in the first phase of the implementation, the laying down of arms and developments in the process of the organization's dissolution and liquidation would be determined, and that this situation would then be announced by the National Security Council (MGK). Uçum had said that the MGK decision would be taken in October, or otherwise in November, and at the latest by the end of the year.
DEM Party sources, however, pointed to October regarding the timeline and claimed that meetings would be held with individuals from the organization.
