Deniz Yavuzyılmaz alleges oil pipeline discrepancy: Where is the 229 million dollars?
CHP MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has claimed that 229.2 million dollars of the transit revenue generated from the Iraq-Turkey pipeline in 2019 is missing.
CHP Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz has brought forward a new allegation regarding the transit revenues he states were generated through the Iraq-Turkey Crude Oil Pipeline in 2019.
In a statement on his social media account, Yavuzyılmaz claimed that Turkey received 494 million 186 thousand dollars in transit fees from the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq in 2019 for oil transported without the permission of the Iraqi Central Government and loaded at Ceyhan Port.
According to Yavuzyılmaz's claim, the amount in question was first transferred to a company called Turkish Energy Company (TEC), established on the Island of Jersey. Subsequently, 264 million 909 thousand dollars of this money was sent to Turkey, to BOTAŞ.
Yavuzyılmaz argued that the whereabouts of the remaining 229 million 276 thousand dollars are unknown, stating that this amount corresponds to approximately 11 billion Turkish Lira at the current exchange rate.
In his statement, Yavuzyılmaz noted that he had previously raised allegations regarding the period covering 2014-2018 and said he was now sharing the file for 2019. Yavuzyılmaz asserted that the process was conducted in violation of international agreements and argued that collection should be pursued from those responsible.
