Democrat Party (DP) Çankaya Mayoral Candidate İrem Taşpınar announced that she would raise awareness regarding gender discrimination and women's rights issues. Taşpınar stated, "Women should have the right to free access to basic hygiene and health necessities. We will establish stations where women in Çankaya can meet their sanitary pad needs free of charge during their menstrual periods."

Democrat Party Çankaya Mayoral Candidate İrem Taşpınar announced that the stations, which she named 'Pedmatik', will be located at designated spots in every neighborhood of Çankaya, as well as at neighborhood headman offices (muhtarlık), shopping malls, and university campuses.

Taşpınar stated that they would declare a district from the earthquake-affected region as a sister municipality and continue the Pedmatik project in that district as well.

HPV VACCINE WILL BE FREE

Taşpınar, who is also the Democrat Party's Head of Women's Policies, had previously reacted to the fact that approximately 1,250 women lose their lives to cervical cancer every year and that the Ministry of Health has not taken responsibility for this issue, announcing that the HPV vaccine costs for women in Çankaya would be covered by the municipality.

WORKING WOMEN WILL NO LONGER HAVE COOKING PROBLEMS

Stating that they will mobilize all the municipality's resources to ensure that women in Çankaya live in peace, safety, and happiness in every area of life, Taşpınar introduced the 'Çankaya Kitchen' project, taking the meal service provided by some municipalities for the sick and elderly who cannot cook at home one step further.

With the Çankaya Kitchen project, where all employees will be women from Çankaya, working women and young people will be able to access both healthy and very affordable dinners.

WHO IS İREM TAŞPINAR?

She was born in Ankara in 1981. She graduated from Ankara Atatürk High School in 1999 and from the Middle East Technical University (METU), Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 2003, on the Honor List. During her university education, she completed internships at İş Bank, stock brokerage firms, and various public institutions.

She participated in various training programs, primarily the Personal Development Platform at the Beyaz Nokta Development Foundation and Negotiation Skills at TÜGİAD. She founded the Women's Handball Team within METU. After her university education, before starting her professional career, she received training at the Politics Academy organized by TÜSİAV.

At the age of 24, she earned the title of 'youngest manager' at the international company where she worked and served as a senior executive in international geographies for many years.

She served on the boards of various non-governmental organizations working in the medical device sector. She completed training in Health Institutions Management at Hacettepe University and Digital Marketing at Columbia Business School. Taşpınar, who is a Board Member and Sector Trade Commission Chair of the METU Alumni Business People Association (OMİD), continues her professional life as a female entrepreneur and investor in the medical device sector. She speaks advanced English.

Taşpınar continues to serve as the Deputy Chairperson responsible for Women's Policies of the Democrat Party.
