First reaction to the 'raise' in pension payments comes from Özgür Özel

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the increase of the lowest pension from 18,938 TL to 20,000 TL in a statement on his social media account. Criticizing the financial resources behind the raise given to retirees and the government's priorities, Özel pointed out that 39 times this amount is spent on interest payments alone.

THE COST IS PAID IN INTEREST

Özgür Özel expressed his reaction to the raise rate as follows: "The AK Party's chaotic order! They give retirees 1,062 liras following reactions on the streets and in Parliament, yet they complain about the cost being 69.5 billion liras! So, where is this nation's money being spent?"

Özel listed how the government uses the budget as follows:

238 billion TL goes to toll guarantees for roads and bridges.

768 billion TL is spent on tax write-offs for wealthy companies.

2.5 trillion TL is transferred from the poor to the rich through the KKM (FX-Protected Deposit) scheme.

2.7 trillion TL is paid out for the highest interest in history.

RESOURCES FOR THE RICH, NONE FOR THE RETIREE

In his statement, Özel criticized the government's resource allocation, saying, "In this dark order, there are resources for the rich, but none for the retiree. There are toll guarantees for roads, but no livelihood guarantees for retirees."
