The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded in a written statement to claims that have emerged regarding Turkey's policy on the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
The Ministry stated that the claim that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan gave an interview to a newspaper published in Greece is not true.
The statement noted that the answers given by Fidan to questions posed at an event organized by a think tank in Brussels were "distorted" and "completely taken out of context."
The Ministry noted that Turkey's policy on the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean is being made the subject of political polemics.
There is no change in the views that Turkey defends on all platforms, in accordance with international law and with determination.
In the Ministry's statement, it was emphasized that Turkey's stance in the region will be maintained, saying, "As has been the case until now, we will continue to protect our legitimate rights and interests in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean without compromise from now on as well."
