Military service status of PKK terrorists discussed at AKP camp: Yaşar Güler answers the question on everyone's mind

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's call on October 22 initiated a new opening process, which the government has named a 'Terror-Free Turkey,' during which a group of PKK terrorists laid down their arms on July 11.

The public is curious about the next phase of this opening process. The disarmament process of the terrorist organization PKK was discussed at the consultation and evaluation meeting held by the AKP in Kızılcahamam over the weekend.

According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye, one of the most debated topics at the meeting was the status of PKK terrorists who have reached military age and are expected to lay down their arms. It is claimed that in his statement on the matter, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler said, "Republic of Turkey citizens who have reached military age and are members of the organization will be conscripted if they have not participated in any acts and have not performed their military service. To date, our Kurdish brothers have performed their military service without any problems; there were no issues there."
