Üsküdar Municipality responds to 'seizure' allegations

Üsküdar Municipality has responded to the "seizure" statements made by former mayor Hilmi Türkmen on social media. Türkmen had criticized the CHP administration, claiming that the municipality was experiencing financial difficulties and that properties were being put up for sale. However, the municipality stated that these claims do not reflect the truth.

'THE DEBT WAS INCURRED DURING THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION'

Üsküdar Municipality issued a written statement regarding the seizure allegations made against it, emphasizing that these claims do not reflect the truth. The statement from the municipality said, "It is true that bailiffs came to the municipality, but the debt is based on a contract made in 2022, that is, during the previous administration's term."

The statement from the municipality reported that the debt amounts to 5 million 400 thousand TL and that, as a result of negotiations with the relevant company, it was decided to make the payment in 4 installments. While the payments are planned to begin on Friday, May 23, it was noted that a protocol has been signed within the legal framework.

Üsküdar Municipality stated that such allegations are "perception operations" aimed at misleading the public and made the following remarks:

"Those who put forward this claim are trying to smear our municipal administration with methods of creating perception, as we have encountered many times before. We respectfully present this to the information of the public and the people of Üsküdar."
