The Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions (Memur-Sen) has conveyed its demands regarding the financial and personal rights of public employees and retirees to the Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek. During the meeting held by the delegation led by Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın, topics including the 3600 additional indicator, flat-rate payments for retirees, the public personnel system, and collective bargaining practices were discussed.
In the meeting, which the confederation announced via its social media account, it was stated that issues arising from differences in wages and status among public officials were also brought to the agenda. The Memur-Sen delegation specifically conveyed their expectations regarding pension salaries to Minister Şimşek.
In addition to Ali Yalçın, Memur-Sen Vice President Hacı Bayram Tonbul, Büro Memur-Sen President Yusuf Yazgan, and Kültür Memur-Sen President Mecit Erdoğan also attended the meeting.
DEMANDS GROUPED UNDER FOUR HEADINGS
The first of the topics brought to the agenda by Memur-Sen was the inclusion of public officials who have reached the first degree into the scope of the 3600 additional indicator. The confederation argued that personnel who remain outside the regulation, such as chiefs and technicians, should also benefit from this right.
Another demand was for the flat-rate payment made to active civil servants to be reflected in the salaries of retired civil servants. The fact that this payment is not transferred to pension salaries has been among the topics debated between public officials and retirees for a long time.
| Agenda item | Demand |
|---|---|
| 3600 additional indicator | Inclusion of public officials who have reached the first degree into the scope |
| Flat-rate payment | Reflection of the payment onto the salaries of retired civil servants |
| Public personnel system | Resolution of problems arising from wage, staff, and title differences |
| Collective bargaining and aid | Amendment of Law No. 4688 and full implementation of protective clothing assistance |
The demand for the reorganization of the public personnel system also stood out during the meeting. Memur-Sen stated that problems caused by the reflection of staff and title differences on wages should be resolved.
The delegation also conveyed their expectation for amendments to be made to Law No. 4688 on Public Servants' Trade Unions and Collective Bargaining. The implementation of protective clothing assistance in public institutions in accordance with collective bargaining provisions and in a complete manner was also among the agenda items of the meeting.
