The age verification process, which is stated to begin on social media platforms as of November 1, has become one of the new methods used by scammers. The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has warned citizens against fake messages.
According to the DMM's warning, scammers are attempting to panic users with phrases such as "your account will be deleted" to direct them to fake links. This method aims to seize personal information.
The center emphasized that procedures related to age verification will only be conducted via e-Devlet. Users were urged not to perform any transactions through social media messages, SMS, or different internet links.
Experts point out that the names of official institutions and current regulations are frequently used in similar fraud attempts. It is important for citizens to check address information before performing any transactions and to prefer only official channels.
