Instagram's app developed for Apple TV has been made available. The app, which appeared in the Apple TV App Store as of October 23, brings social media content to the television screen, offering a new viewing option for Reels videos, longer content, and live streams.
There has been no separate official announcement from the company regarding the matter. However, app store records indicate that the software has become available for download. Users can search for and install the app via Apple TV and access their content feed by logging in with their existing Instagram accounts.

The new app is notable for ensuring that Instagram content is not limited to phone or tablet screens. The platform positions the app as an experience where users can watch content together with friends and family.
A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR THE BIG SCREEN
The Apple TV app allows users to discover new videos and continue watching from where they left off across different devices. Thus, content consumption that begins on mobile can be continued on the television screen.

Instagram's television app was first made available in a limited capacity for users in the US on Amazon Fire TV devices in December 2025. Support was later expanded to Google TV and Samsung smart televisions.
In the initial stages, the experience was built around Reels channels curated by interest and short videos that played automatically. Meta announced in June that it planned to expand this approach to offer longer content, series-format productions, and live streams alongside short videos.

The store description for the Apple TV version also states that it includes long-form content and live streams in addition to Reels videos. These features create a new alternative, especially for users who want to follow content creators on the big screen.
To use the app, tvOS 26.0 or a newer version must be installed on the Apple TV device. The file size of the app, published by Instagram, Inc., is listed as 660.9 MB.

Instagram's arrival on Apple TV is considered part of a trend toward greater integration of social media content into home entertainment systems. Being able to watch live streams and long-form videos on the television screen moves the platform's usage area beyond mobile devices.
