Former Real Madrid Castilla player Borja Ferrer passes away at 44

Former footballer Borja Ferrer, who played in the lower leagues of Spanish football, has passed away at the age of 44 following a long battle with illness.

Real Madrid published a condolence message on its official website for Ferrer, who was part of the Real Madrid Castilla squad during the 2002-2003 season. In its statement, the club said, “Real Madrid C. F., its president and its Board of Directors are deeply saddened by the passing of Borja Ferrer, who was a player for Real Madrid Castilla during the 2002-2003 season.”

The statement also extended condolences to Ferrer’s family, former teammates, and loved ones. Real Madrid stated that it received the news of its former player's passing with “deep sorrow.”

During his professional career, Ferrer competed in Spain's lower leagues. It was reported that the former footballer, who played for various clubs including Xerez, was forced to end his career early due to health issues.
