Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis, who plays for the NBA team Golden State Warriors, has announced that he is ending his professional career. In an announcement made on his social media account, the 31-year-old player stated that he is prioritizing his health.

Expressing that he was preparing for the new season with great excitement, Porzingis said that his body did not respond as expected during the period when he increased his training intensity. For this reason, he stated that he reached the conclusion that he would not be able to perform at the level required to compete at the highest level.
