Resignations that have turned into a management crisis continue at the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). It has been reported that the total number of full and substitute board members who have resigned from the federation, which is at the center of criticism due to referee and betting operations, has risen to 18.
Most recently, it was alleged that Fazlı Çilingir, the Board Member responsible for Club Licensing and Financial Affairs, has stepped down from his position. Following this development, it is stated that 10 people remain on the board of directors, including President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu.
According to the TFF statutes, the minimum number of members required for the board of directors to convene is 8. Therefore, if 3 more people from the current board resign, the number of board members will drop to 7, and the board will be considered automatically dissolved.
President Hacıosmanoğlu, meanwhile, emphasized in a television broadcast he attended the other night that he is not considering leaving his post. Hacıosmanoğlu sent a message that he would continue his duty with the words, “I am not tired; adrenaline keeps a person resilient. Leaving something and walking away is the easiest thing. If you leave while there is suspicion, it means you are a part of that incident. Our lives have been spent fighting.”
