Okan Buruk to take case to Constitutional Court and ECHR

Following Galatasaray's 4-0 victory over Antalyaspor, head coach Okan Buruk addressed the one-match ban he received for comments made after the Fenerbahçe derby, stating, "We went to the Arbitration Board regarding this. I will apply to the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights. I will seek my rights. I may like or dislike a referee. No one can decide on that."

In the 28th week of the Süper Lig, league leaders Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-0 at home with goals from Osimhen (3) and Morata. With this result, the Yellow-Reds reached 71 points, extending their lead over their closest rival, Fenerbahçe, to 10 points with a game in hand.

Galatasaray Head Coach Okan Buruk made statements to the broadcaster beIN Sports following the 4-goal victory against Antalyaspor.

Buruk claimed that he would be penalized for the slightest comment he makes regarding matters off the pitch.

Recalling that he was penalized for his comments following the Fenerbahçe derby in the 25th week of the league, Buruk stated, "We need to stay in the game. I know that a penalty awaits me for the slightest comment I make about things off the pitch. I need to be careful about this. After the Fenerbahçe match, I made a very democratic speech for which I should not have been penalized. I received a 1-match ban for nothing. We went to the Arbitration Board regarding this. I will apply to the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights. I will seek my rights. I may like or dislike a referee. No one can decide on that. There may be places where we are upset or angry. We are human, but I always try to be positive toward my players and my own circle. They always tell me, 'Don't let it get to you,' but I am in good spirits and I don't let anything get to me. It is very important for us to focus only on the game. They are already trying to pull us elsewhere. As long as we don't go where they are trying to pull us, we will increase our success on the pitch."
