TFF announces: Anthony Taylor has started his role as MHK Elite Referee Director

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced that English referee Anthony Taylor has begun his duties as the Elite Referee Director of the Central Referee Board (MHK).

According to the TFF's announcement, Taylor will take part in technical processes for top-tier referees within the MHK to contribute to the development of Turkish refereeing. Taylor, who officiated in the English Premier League for 16 years, concluded his refereeing career following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Taylor, who held a FIFA badge for 14 years, officiated important matches in tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Football Championship, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Nations League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Taylor's career also includes the 2022-2023 UEFA Europa League final, the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup final, the 2021 UEFA Nations League final, and the 2020 UEFA Super Cup final. In England, he officiated the 2015 EFL Cup final, the 2015 FA Community Shield, the 2017 and 2020 FA Cup finals, and the 2018 Championship Play-off final.

It was stated that in his new role, Taylor will work in areas such as the technical development planning of top-tier referees, strengthening performance evaluation systems, preparing training programs, and improving match analysis and feedback processes.

The TFF reported that Taylor will also lead the creation of referee development strategies in line with UEFA and FIFA standards.
