Balazs Borbely cautious ahead of the return leg: It is hard to predict what will happen in the second match
Ferencvaros manager Balazs Borbely stated that they achieved a good result against Trabzonspor but that the return leg will not be easy.
Ferencvaros manager Balazs Borbely made statements following the match in which they defeated Trabzonspor 1-0 away in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off round.
Borbely stated that they held control of the game in the first half, while Trabzonspor built pressure with the changes they made in the second half. The Hungarian manager said, "We were the better side in the first half of the match. The opponent made changes to their players and game plan in the second half. They managed to pin us back into our own half. We played a good game and my players performed well. We are leaving here with a good score. We want to protect this at home and advance to the next round."
Speaking cautiously about the return leg, Borbely emphasized that Trabzonspor's moves in the second half changed the course of the game. Borbely stated, "We were the better side in the first half. The opponent dominated the game with player substitutions. It is hard to predict what will happen in the second match. I think we will put on a good performance at home with the support of our fans."
Touching upon the Trabzonspor squad, Borbely drew attention to the quality of the burgundy-blue team, adding, "World-famous names play here. When looking at the Hungarian League, it is more realistic to say that this place is better."
