Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım issued a statement on his social media account following the team's poor results in the Süper Lig. Stating that they are aware of the sadness within the red-and-white community, Yıldırım asked the fans not to fall into despair.
Expressing that Samsunspor's current position is neither in line with the club's goals nor the community's expectations, Yıldırım said, "The results sadden us all and hurt us. I know our fans are sad. I am just as sad as you are."
Emphasizing that the management, technical staff, and players are not shying away from responsibility, Yıldırım reminded that the club has overcome many difficulties in the past. President Yıldırım stated that instead of looking for someone to blame during this period, they should act together.
Stating that the deficiencies in the team have been identified and the necessary analyses have been made, Yıldırım announced that the required moves will be made during the mid-season transfer window. Yıldırım noted that decisions will be made rationally, not emotionally.
Yıldırım expressed his goal for the club with these words: "I did not come here to relegate this club to a lower league, but to carry it to Europe." Reiterating his call for support from the fans, Yıldırım said, "Samsunspor will not be relegated. Samsunspor will not give up. Samsunspor will rise again."
