Some streets and roads in Istanbul have been closed to vehicle traffic due to the rehearsal for the ceremony to be held as part of the 103rd anniversary celebrations of Republic Day.
Police teams took security measures from the early morning hours on the routes where the rehearsal will take place. As of 05:45, drivers were directed to alternative roads announced by the Istanbul Governor's Office.
Among the points closed to traffic are both directions of Adnan Menderes Boulevard (Vatan Avenue). Connections to the boulevard from the north and south directions of the D-100 highway, as well as entrances from Edirnekapı, 10. Yıl, Oğuzhan, Sofular, Halıcılar, Akdeniz, Akşemsettin, and Ordu streets, have also been closed.
Access to Adnan Menderes Boulevard from Atatürk Boulevard, Keçeci Meydan Street, and the south direction of the Hal Road is also not permitted. It was reported that entry will not be possible from all streets and avenues leading to the boulevard, as well as from Tatlıpınar, Kaleboyu, and Sulukule streets.
As alternatives to the closed routes, Turgut Özal Millet Street, Fevzipaşa Street, Atatürk Boulevard, the D-100 highway, and the O-3 Hal Road can be used.
Authorities warned that traffic congestion may occur in the area during the rehearsal and requested that drivers follow the guidance signs and the instructions of the teams.
