6.2 magnitude earthquake in Japan

Japan has been shaken by a 6.2 magnitude earthquake. According to information obtained from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquake, with its epicenter in the east of Shimane Prefecture, was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers at 10:18 local time.

It was announced that there is no risk of a tsunami following the tremor, which was also strongly felt in Tottori, Okayama, and Hiroshima prefectures in addition to Shimane.

Numerous aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 3.2 to 5.4 occurred following the earthquake.

While there were no initial reports of loss of life, it was stated that no abnormalities were detected at nuclear power plants in the regions affected by the earthquake.
