Iran: We have closed the Strait of Hormuz, and we will set fire to any ship that tries to pass

Brigadier General Ebrahim Jabbari, advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), made a statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

Jabbari stated that they would intervene against ships attempting to pass through the Strait, saying, "We have closed the Strait of Hormuz, and we will set fire to any ship that wants to pass through the Strait. They should not come to this region. Otherwise, they will certainly face our serious and decisive response."

Expressing that they would also target oil shipments, Jabbari said, "We will also attack oil pipelines. The Americans have debts of thousands of billions of dollars. They are thirsty for the region's oil, but we will not allow a single drop of oil to leave the region."

Approximately one-fifth of the world's oil trade and liquefied natural gas exports from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates pass through the Strait of Hormuz. About 20 percent of global daily oil consumption, which is approximately 20 million barrels, passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
