Israel launches attack on Baalbek in eastern Lebanon

In a written statement issued by the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health, it was noted that 20 people were killed and 14 others were injured in the airstrikes carried out on the Baalbek district.

Baalbek-Hermel Governor Bachir Khodr also stated in a previous announcement that the number of people who lost their lives in the town of Al-Kenise in the Baalbek district had risen to 10, and to 6 in Hadath.

3 THOUSAND PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES

The number of people who have lost their lives in attacks carried out by the Israeli army on Lebanon since October 8, 2023, has risen to 3,136, while the number of injured has reached 13,979.

The Israeli army, which has been engaged in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, launched intense airstrikes on September 23 on the Bekaa and Baalbek regions, as well as cities in southern Lebanon.

On September 30, the Israeli army announced that it had begun "limited and intensive" ground attacks targeting "Hezbollah's infrastructure" in southern Lebanon. It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced in Lebanon due to Israeli bombardment.
