Retaliation from China to the US: UAV exports halted, 6 American companies added to sanctions list
Beijing has responded to US moves targeting Chinese technology companies and drone imports with a ban on UAV exports and new sanctions.
China has announced new sanction measures in response to US restrictions on Chinese technology firms and drone imports. The Beijing administration announced that it has halted shipments of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Washington and added 6 US-based companies to its sanctions list.
In a written statement issued by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, it was stated that the decision was taken in response to the US banning the import of Chinese drones and imposing sanctions on 43 Chinese companies.
According to the statement, sanctions will be imposed on 6 American companies under the new regulations. Furthermore, UAV exports to the US have been banned.
The ongoing tension between Beijing and Washington over technology, the defense industry, and supply chains indicates that tensions in the trade war have risen once again with these latest steps.
