TRNC Prime Minister Üstel: The Greek Cypriots have war on their minds

Üstel evaluated the three years they have spent in power during a press conference held with his coalition partners, Democrat Party Chairman Fikri Ataoğlu and Rebirth Party Chairman Erhan Arıklı.

Addressing questions from journalists at the meeting regarding the GCA's actions, such as arrests and the issuance of international arrest warrants for those who purchase property in the TRNC, Üstel noted that they are consulting with President Ersin Tatar and Turkey on the measures to be taken against the Greek Cypriot Administration, adding that the measures will be announced next week.

Üstel stated that the GCA uses its EU membership not as a bridge, but as a tool of pressure, and expressed that Turkish Cypriots are now facing not only embargoes but also attempts at political blackmail and economic sabotage.

Prime Minister Üstel stated at the meeting that the Turkish Cypriot people will not bow to any injustice and that the initiatives launched by the GCA against those who acquire property in the TRNC will not go unanswered, adding the following:

"The Greek Cypriots have war, not peace, on their minds. Even if there is talk of peace in the Greek Cypriot Administration's rhetoric, we understand that they have war on their minds. If the international community truly wants a lasting solution on the island, it must stop the Greek Cypriot Administration."
