US President Donald Trump has issued a new decision one day before the deadline for ByteDance to sell TikTok was set to expire.

The US President stated that significant progress has been made regarding the sale of TikTok by ByteDance to an American firm, but that more work is needed to obtain the necessary approvals.

GRANTED AN ADDITIONAL 75 DAYS

Trump said he would extend the deadline, which had been pushed to April 5, by another 75 days to finalize the deal.

In a statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said, "My administration is working very hard on a deal to save TikTok, and we have made great progress.

The deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed. Therefore, I am signing an executive order to keep TikTok open for another 75 days," he said.

In his statement, Trump emphasized that he hopes to continue working with China in good faith, adding, "As I understand it, they are not very happy with our tariffs (necessary for fair and balanced trade between China and the US!).

We do not want TikTok to 'go dark.' We look forward to working to close the deal with TikTok and China.
