Turkey and Syria were affected by the deadliest earthquakes in recent history, and the statement pointed out that the consequences of the disaster continue for children. It was emphasized that the earthquakes led to restricted access to services such as safe water, education, and health assistance for families in both Turkey and Syria, and also made the protection of vulnerable children more difficult.

'THERE IS STILL MUCH TO BE DONE'

In the statement, UNICEF Executive Director Russell was quoted as saying, "A year ago, the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria turned the lives of millions of children upside down.

Government support and humanitarian aid are helping families get their lives back on track and providing children with a path to overcome what they have experienced."

Russell stated that the situation of the children affected by the earthquakes continues to improve, but that there is still much to be done.
