The 2027 finalists for the European Car of the Year, considered one of the most prestigious awards in the European automotive world, have been announced. It is noteworthy that all 7 models on this year's final list are electric vehicles.
Among the models that reached the finals is the Hyundai Ioniq 3, which is produced in Turkey. Thus, a Turkey-produced model will compete with Europe's leading electric cars in the final stage of the award.

The announced finalists are as follows: BMW iX3, Cupra Raval, Hyundai Ioniq 3, Kia EV2, Renault Twingo, Volkswagen ID. Polo, and Volvo EX60.

The finalists were determined as a result of evaluations by an expert jury of 64 people representing 25 European countries. It was stated that the award will be presented for the 63rd time this year. The winner of the previous award was the Mercedes-Benz CLA.
Jury members will gather at the Balocco test track in Italy on November 25-26 to put the finalist models through road and driving tests. Criteria such as cornering ability, consumption values, software responsiveness, and suspension comfort will stand out in the evaluations.
Following the testing process, jury members will enter their final scores into the system by December 31. Each jury member will distribute a total of 25 points among the finalists; a maximum of 10 points can be given to a single model. The winning model is expected to be announced on January 8 as part of the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium.
