Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ shared his assessments on his social media account following the announcement by DEM Party İmralı Delegation member Mithat Sancar that Abdullah Öcalan has moved to a new location prepared for him on İmralı.
Özdağ claimed that Öcalan has been "appointed as a commission member" and therefore his imprisonment has ended. Özdağ stated, "Abdullah Öcalan is now a commission member and is no longer a prisoner. Since he is no longer a prisoner, he will not stay in the prison, but in the villa built for him."
Claiming that the place prepared for Öcalan was also designed as a "work environment," Özdağ argued that meetings and political activities would be conducted there.
In his statement, the Zafer Party leader said, "Yes, Öcalan has been released. They are thinking about how to explain this to the public and how to make them digest it over time."
Özdağ also stated that there are some demands he claims came from Öcalan, and said he would share these demands with the public "after they mature a little more."
