A first in Istanbul: Limits are being placed on valet fees! Effective from January 1st

In Istanbul, the high cost and lack of transparency regarding valet fees, especially in luxury districts, have brought about many debates.

In places like Etiler, Nişantaşı, and Bağdat Avenue, valet fees exceeding one thousand liras were drawing backlash. To put an end to these discussions, a 'valet tariff' was prepared by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce following a decision by the Istanbul Governorship.

Accordingly, while pricing has been established for three different zones, under the new regulation, the maximum valet service fee—excluding parking fees—will be applied as 200-300 liras at shopping malls, 150-200 liras at hospitals, and 250-400 liras at hotels, restaurants, and entertainment centers. At airports, the valet fee will remain the same at 500 liras.

DIFFERENT PRICING IN THREE ZONES

The tariff, which was prepared for the first time and accepted unanimously at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce assembly meeting, will come into effect throughout Istanbul as of January 1, 2025.

According to the new tariff, districts in Istanbul have been divided into three zones with different pricing applied.

In the 1st Zone, which covers Şişli, Beşiktaş, Kadıköy, Bakırköy, Fatih, Beyoğlu, and Üsküdar, a price ceiling of 300 TL for shopping malls,

200 TL for hospitals,

and 400 TL for hotels, restaurants, and entertainment centers will be applied.

In the 2nd Zone, which covers Ataşehir, Başakşehir, Ümraniye, Sarıyer, Tuzla, Maltepe, Beylikdüzü, Pendik, Esenyurt, Bahçelievler, Zeytinburnu, Bağcılar, Kartal, Bayrampaşa, Kağıthane, Küçükçekmece, Güngören, Büyükçekmece, Eyüpsultan, Adalar, Beykoz, and Avcılar, the maximum valet fee is set at 250 TL for shopping malls,

150 TL for hospitals,

and 300 TL for hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

In the 3rd Zone, which covers Gaziosmanpaşa, Çekmeköy, Esenler, Silivri, Sancaktepe, Sultangazi, Arnavutköy, Çatalca, Şile, and Sultanbeyli, the maximum valet service will be 200 TL at shopping malls,

150 TL at hospitals,

and 250 TL at hotels, restaurants, and entertainment centers.

These prices will be valid for institutions affiliated with the ITO (Istanbul Chamber of Commerce).

HOW MUCH IS THE VALET FEE AT AIRPORTS?

The valet service fee at Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport, which was previously applied as 500 liras, remains unchanged in the new tariff.
