Etihad Airways to hire A320 captains and instructor pilots: Annual package reaches up to 674 thousand dirhams
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has published a new job posting for experienced candidates for A320 captain and instructor pilot positions.
Etihad Airways has launched a recruitment process for A320 captain pilots and instructor pilots to be based in Abu Dhabi. According to the job posting published on the company's online recruitment platform, the position is open to candidates with captaincy and instructor experience on the A320 family.
The airline plans to expand its experienced pilot staff in line with its goal of doubling its fleet by 2030. The posting states that the total annual salary and allowance package, based on 75 flight hours per month, can reach up to 674 thousand 29 UAE dirhams.
It was reported that this package consists of a base salary, flight pay, housing allowance, layover, and meal allowances. It was noted that performance-based annual increases can also be added to the package, which is stated to be tax-free.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND FRINGE BENEFITS
Candidates are required to have at least 5 thousand 500 hours of total flight experience. At least 2 thousand 500 hours of this time must have been completed as a pilot-in-command on multi-pilot, glass-cockpit aircraft, and at least 1,500 hours must have been completed as a captain on the A320 family.
Pilots applying are required to have flown on the A320 family within the last 12 months and must have a type rating that remains valid for at least two more months at the time of starting the job. A valid and unrestricted ICAO ATPL license, a first-class medical certificate, and at least ICAO Level 4 English proficiency are also among the requirements. Candidates must not have turned 59 years old on the day they start the position.
For the instructor pilot position, at least three years of TRI and/or TRE experience on the A320, 1,000 hours of training in a flight simulation training device, and 1,000 hours of LIFUS/IOE experience are also requested. Having experience in MPL, cadet or entry-level pilot training, and evidence-based training programs is considered an advantage.
The company announced that it will offer pilots 42 days of leave per year, an income protection program, accident and life insurance, and end-of-service benefits. A 10 thousand dollar travel allowance for employees and eligible family members is also included in the package.
Within the scope of education support, assistance of up to 40 thousand UAE dirhams per child for primary education and 55 thousand UAE dirhams for secondary education will be provided for up to three children. Relocation, settlement, and family travel support will also be provided for candidates moving to Abu Dhabi.
Additional payments will be made for instructor and check duties. It is planned to pay 1,300 UAE dirhams to type rating instructors and 1,600 UAE dirhams to type rating check pilots for four hours of simulator training.
