The 103rd year's question for Islamists and the left: How so?

Yesterday, we "observed" the 103rd anniversary of the republic. The murdered republic. There is a stir in society. The feeling of standing up to the Islamist government and tyranny is growing stronger.

This is a development that frightens those in power. They have begun to see one thing clearly: many of the progressive characteristics of the republic they murdered have now settled into the veins of the Turkish people. Indeed...

Indeed, in this regime that we could call a "ballot-box monarchy," the Islamists, who came to power in the embrace and on the winds of the liberal left, are becoming more disgraced every day in the eyes of a people impoverished by their different versions and greed. A sense of disgust is rising.

Do they see it?

It is difficult.

Because the power prepared for the Islamists by Cold War weapons like the Frankfurt School-type reactionaries and their Turkish lackeys has a blinding and deafening side. The Islamist movement, which came to power by taking these liberals' democracy in tow and "deceiving" them as well, has begun to kneel before the republicanism ("popular Kemalism") that has permeated the marrow of the people. The crisis is unmasking the thieves much faster than before. That is how Turkey is.

What about Europe?

We have pointed out many times that clocks run differently in Turkey and Europe.

Right now, the reactionism in power on the France-Germany axis has begun to spread the fairy tale that the left could take power with the support of Muslim masses and thus establish a socialist government, in the face of Le Pen and the AfD marching toward power. They are very afraid. It seems the media will be filled with such secret or open warnings... According to liberal opinion leaders fed by the wealthy, the left could come to power thanks to Muslim communities. That is what they think. It is not something that will happen, but liberal reactionism in particular is playing with fire. We will address this in detail in the future.

THE SITUATION IN TURKEY

We actually experienced this scenario in Turkey in reverse: Liberals who consider/deem/sell themselves as leftists not only viewed the republic as an anomaly, but also broke its back thanks to the Islamists. They have a large share in the shattering of all institutions and rules that gave republican signals and in the plundering of the country. They considered this a "campaign to get rid of the tutelage regime." They even put the republic in the grave, but, as Orhan Gökdemir noted, they could never bury it. And they still cannot bury it.

Now, the deepening and spreading economic crisis is causing the republican sensitivity among the people to come to the fore even more. As the poverty that has exploded—within a framework where the Islamist government feeds them and they feed the government—leads to more theft on the stage, it sharpens the anger of the people even further. They cannot be failing to see this; it is certain that they do not want to see it.

Again: Islamists, with the delusions of the liberal left, established a predatory regime here. In Europe, dreams that this could happen in reverse are being sold by both reactionaries and the liberal left.

Indeed, could something similar happen in reverse on the France-Germany axis? That is, could the likes of Melenchon on this axis, and the Left Party-Greens and SPD circles in Germany, come to power by taking advantage of the sensitivities and support of the densely populated Muslim communities? France aside, the initiatives of Elif Eralp, who is playing for the state premiership in Berlin, contain scenes that will prevent too much excitement.

But why has the German right begun to spread the fear that Muslims will change the balance by supporting the left? Because the crisis is deepening. The result of this accumulation is an increase in social pressure on the approximately 7 million people from Muslim cultures. Atomization AND fragmentation in society will accelerate if things continue this way.

Europe is different. But it must not be forgotten: In Turkey, this "combo," in reverse, granted power to the Islamists.

In Germany, for example, there is another right—which is also in power—trying to organize a new reactionary fortification, using the Islamist threat as an excuse, that is, by openly targeting it, outside of the AfD (Alternative for Germany) party, which has sat in first place in the polls without a rival. The crisis is pushing the theoretical guardians of the current system toward dangerous solutions. Especially the media...

DEMOCRACY OR REPUBLIC?

The issue is this: A helplessness trapped in the dilemma of "Republic or democracy?" is growing. Some simplistic people, especially so-called leftists who have been hit by liberal influence and open enemies of the left, will say "both." The answer is easy, but it is not correct.

In Turkey, everyone from liberals to Islamists, and even all kinds of nationalism, including Turkish-Kurdish ethnicism, filled the content of democracy in their own way. They fed the left a myth of a classless, privilege-free democracy. In the meantime, they also made the AKP the government.

But in the end, they hit the reality that the republic and republican values have deeply permeated the people. In other words, they crashed into a wall. The republican yeast in the Turkish people seems to have taken hold, even if it is inactive. It is also understood that those in power cannot overcome this resistance with democracy, being democratic, or anything of the sort. Why?

Because, one, the crisis is deepening, and two, it is not being democratic, but republicanism that continues to be a leftist and populist vitamin.

Since 1789, this historical "extremism" has been both the cause and the result of very harsh reckonings.

Democracy? Being democratic? People walked to their deaths because they defended the republic. Democracy and such were just the trimmings. What was concrete was the republic.

What is painful is this: In the 20th century, the socialist movement, especially real socialism, could not prevent democracy from turning into an anti-communist monster. In the end, it too became its victim. This concept ("democracy") and the ballot box are now in the hands of the owners of factories, banks, in short, the means of production. It has evolved into a metaphysical indefiniteness, and all reactionaries, especially Islamists, are pleased with this. Identity politicians likewise...

But the republic is not like that. It is very concrete. The insistence of socialists and communists on the republic is very meaningful.

The fact that the republican vein has taken hold in Turkey is the main trouble at the head of the III. Abdülhamid regime; this is certain.

What about the situation in Europe? We will return to this topic...
